4Q German GDP lower than expected

German GDP declined 0.5% in the fourth quarter, below expectations and down from the 0.2% growth in the 3Q.  Overall, the economy grew at a 0.7% rate for the full year vs 3.0% and 4.2% in 2011 and 2010.  German GDP was expected to be 1% in 2013, but estimates are likely to be revised down as the Eurozone conomy continues to struggle.  1Q GDP is expected to be slow, with some growth resuming after that.
